one word, one photo

There are certain events and things so powerful and dramatic that no words can express them. Those events and things do not need a paragraph of text, an excessive loud commentary, an entertaining debate or thorough analysis. Sometimes silence is stronger than the sound. Sometimes one word is stronger than a paragraph of text. Because the world is already full of unnecessary noise signifying nothing.

Self-branding, business cards

Some ideas for self-branding. It is hard for me to define myself and my work at this point especially that it changes so often and I never stop changing also. I thought of 3 ideas. Idea 1: refers to lines and connection, path of lines because this is, after all, what the business card is for- networking. Idea 2: idea related to my portfolio design- the image compression. It might look intriguing to someone who doesn't know the idea behind the design. Idea 3: once again, this idea refers to path, but this time the path in After Effects. This is the basic tool to know, talked about during the first class of motion graphics class. It's where everything begins.

10, 15 second motion piece 2

This is the spot related to the 4th dimension- the presence and the future. The "stream" of motion is created due to the progression of the time- the time moving forward, from past to presence and to future.

10 second motion graphics piece reference

I would like to do 3 10 second motion pieces- a combination of live action footage and typography. It's going to be a branding project at the same time. The 10 second pieces will be so called "bumpers"- a brief announcement placed between the programs on tv. The bumper will announce what's "coming up next". The main challenge is to stay within brands characteristics, style and draw the viewers attention. MTV is mostly targeted at young audience, it's a modern brand, often shocking and pushing the boundaries of what's controversial and what's not.

The 10 second pieces will be based on the idea of existence of 10th dimensions and specifically on the 4th and 5th dimensions. Below are the mood boards/ styleboards to give and idea of how the spots are going to look like.


Photo shoot

I would like to use the photographs I have already taken because I think they would work nicely with typography. The photographs would be incorporated with a text from a chosen poem. The chosen poem is going to be about personal space. I'm still looking for the right poem. WIth the poem and typography I would like to emphasize the delicacy of the photographs.
